Summary

THE PAPER REPORTS THE FOLLOWING: (1) A PROCESS FOR THE SELECT ION OF A SITE SUITABLE FOR AQUIFER THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE; (2) A PROPOSAL FOR A NEW METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE MOST SUITABLE SITE IN TERMS OF VALUES OF THE APPARENT THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY OF THE AQUIFER. THIS MODEL IS BASED ON THE ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF TEMPERATURE RECOVERY IN THE WELL AFTER A STEPWISE INJECTION OF WARM WATER INTO THE AQUIFER; AND (3) THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS SHOWED GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THOSE OBTAINED FROM THE METHOD PROPOSED ABOVE.
