Summary

THE DYNAMIC THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF A HIGHLY INSULATED DWELLING AND A MONOVALENT AIR TO WATER HEAT PUMP HEATING SYSTEM HAVE BEEN SIMULATED IN COMBINATION. RESULTS INDICATED WIDE VARIATIONS IN THE CONTINUOUS HEATING ENERGY DEMAND PATTERN FOR A HIGHLY INSULATED DWELLING. THIS CAUSED THE HEATING SYSTEM TO OPERATE AT LOW LOAD FOR MOST OF THE HEATING SEASON AND PLACED GREATER IMPORTANCE ON THE DYNAMIC BEHAVIOUR OF THE HEAT PUMP AT PART LOAD.
