Summary

The authors discuss the problems of potato storage in Poland and Western Europe. The domestic problems are mainly connected with the need to develop and modernize the storage basis of potatoes destined for industrial processing, and of direct-consumption potatoes. Creation of modern storage foundations is dependent on many conditions, including profitability of potato production, accessibility to low-rate credits, more specialized farms, export development and other factors.
