Summary
A numerical solution of Stefan problem in biological tissues is presented. The solution is based on the classical bioheat equation and variable time-step scheme. The temperature field, position and moving rate of the phase interface during cryosurgery are calculated with different blood perfusion and metabolic heat generation values. The results demonstrate the apparent influence of blood perfusion on the freezing process of tissues, while the metabolic heat generation exerted less influence. These conclusions are consistent with literature results.
