IN THIS ARTICLE, THE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE UNDERGROUND AND RER AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS, IN PARIS, ARE STUDIED. AFTER A PRESENTATION OF SOME FIGURES CONCERNINGTHE NETWORK, THE PROBLEMS OF BIOCLIMATIC COMFORT ARE EXAMINED, WITH REFERENCE TO THE CLIMATIC AND HYGIENIC OBJECTIVES WHICH WERE FIXED, FOLLOWED BY A DESCRIPTION OF THE PRINCIPLES AND MEANS DEVELOPED IN ORDER TO MEET THESE OBJECTIVES. THE MONITORING RESULTS REVEAL THAT 80% OF THE OBJECTIVES ARE ACHIEVED, DURING SUMMER, BY THE EXTRACTION OF SOME 60 MILLION CUBIC METERS OF AIR AND OF 40 MILLION KILOJOULES PER HOUR.
