Summary

THEORETICAL STUDY OF THE MORPHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OF SILICA GEL UNDER THE COMBINED EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE AND ADSORBATE VAPOUR (WATER, METHANOL). APPLICATION TO COOLING. THE SILICA GEL-ADSORBATE SYSTEM (WATER, METHANOL) IS VERY EFFICIENT IN THE CASE OF SMALL TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE HEAT SINK AND THE HEAT SOURCE AND THE HEAT SINK AND EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE, BUT IT IS VERY SENSITIVE TO TEMPERATURE DEVIATIONS AT THE LEVEL OF THE ADSORBER. THE SMALL ADSORPTION RATE RESULTS IN SOME DIFFICULTIES IN THE USE OF THIS SYSTEM FOR COOLING A LOAD. ON THE OTHER HAND, IT WILL BE EASILY UTILIZABLE FOR COUNTERBALANCING THERMAL LOSSES.
