Summary

FOR A CORRECT EVALUATION OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS DUE TO SOLAR ENERGY INPUTS FOR SOLAR GAINS DURING WINTER AND REQUIRED HEAT LOADS OVER THE SUMMER, IT WOULD BE NECESSARY TO HAVE A GOOD KNOWLEDGE, SPECIALLY REGARDING THEIR THERMAL PROPERTIES. EXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENTS OF SOLAR ENERGY TRANSMISSION COEFFICIENT THROUGH PLASTIC SHEETS WERE MADE BY MEANS OF AN EQUIPMENT SPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR THIS PURPOSE. THE PAPER REPORTS THE RESULTS OF THIS RESEARCH AND ATTEMPTS TO DEDUCE SOME CONSIDERATIONS FOR THEIR USE IN BUILDING THERMAL LOADS CALCULATIONS.
