Author(s) : SAKKAL F., SHAAR H.

Summary

A PROGRAM FOR ENERGY ANALYSIS OF RESIDENCES WAS APPLIED TO SOUTH ORIENTED SINGLE GLAZED FENESTRATION AREA FOR ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF BUILDINGS FOR DIFFERENT CLIMATES. RESULTS OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION FOR HEATING HAVE SHOWN THAT A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF SAVING IS REALIZED IN 2 OF THE 4 CLIMATES WHERE THE WINTER OVERALL AMOUNT OF INSOLATION IS HIGH. THE ONLY CASE WHERE THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION HAS SHOWN SOME INCREASE IS THAT OF A VERY COLD CLIMATE. THE OVERALL EFFECT ON ENERGY CONSUMPTION INCLUDING COOLING WAS ALSO STUDIED AND RESULTS HAVE SHOWN AN INCREASE OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION.
