Type of monograph: Report

Summary

This VAMAS (Versailles Project on Advanced Materials and Standards) supplement of "Cryogenics" describes the results of intercomparison of critical-current measurements in multifilamentary niobium-tin wires at high magnetic fields. The critical current is the most important superconducting property for practical application of superconducting wires. Contents: background for critical-current measurement; first and second intercomparisons of critical-current measurements; complementary measurements and analysis; standard method for critical-current determination; reference material. The terminology for superconducting materials is given in an appendix.
