A THEORETICAL MODEL IS PROPOSED, BASED ON EXPERIMENTAL OBSERVATIONSWHICH SHOW THAT, AFTER A SHORT DELAY, THE RESPONSE CAN EASILY BE SIMULATED WITH AN EXPONENTIAL LAW, CHARACTERIZED BY ONLY ONE TIME CONSTANT T. THE HEAT BALANCE OF THE HEAT EXCHANGER ELEMENTS LEADS TO A SIMPLE AND ANALYTICAL EXPRESSION OF T, WHICH IS A FUNCTION OF THE ELEMENTS' CHARACTERISTICS (GEOMETRY, MATERIALS) AND THE WORKING CONDITIONS. THE EXPRESSION OBTAINED HAS BEEN CHECKED THROUGH EXPERIMENTS (CONCENTRIC PIPE HEAT EXCHANGER) AND THE RESULTS OF OTHER AUTHORS.
