Summary

THE PRINCIPLES OF SKY-COOLING ARE REPORTED AND SIMPLE BUILDING PROCESSES ARE PROPOSED FOR SKY-COOLERS WITH SCREENS, SELECTIVE SURFACES, AND REFLECTIVE WALLS. A FREEZER AND A RADIATOR CAN BE INTEGRATED IN A SINGLE TANK OR CONNECTED BY A HEAT PIPE. THE FORMER DEVICE WAS USED FOR THE DESALTING OF BRACKISH WATERS AND THE LATTER CAN BE EASILY INTEGRATED IN EXISTING DWELLINGS. NATURAL SKY-COOLING CAN OPEN NEW VISTAS FOR AGRICULTURE IN DESERTIC OR RURAL AREAS. J.L.
