Summary
THE AUTHORS DISCUSSED, FROM THE THERMAL VIEWPOINT, SHIP HOLDS FOR TRANSPORT UNDER CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE AND LNG-CARRIER STRUCTURES. THEY PRESENT A CALCULATION METHOD FOR THE MORE ACCURATE DETERMINATION OF OVERALL THERMAL CHARACTERISTICS AND GIVE A DETAILED MAP OF TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION. THIS ENABLES ONE TO DETERMINE CRITICAL CONDITIONS AND GIVES DATA FOR THE SELECTION OF MATERIALS. THESE RESULTS MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO EVALUATE THE THERMAL STRESSES INDUCED BY TEMPERATURE GRADIENTS.
