THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF A DIFFUSION-ABSORPTION REFRIGERATOR.

Summary

THE OPERATION OF A THREE-FLUID ABSORPTION REFRIGERATION SYSTEM WAS TESTED UNDER UNUSUAL CONDITIONS. THE BOILER INPUTS WERE VARIED FROM 60 TO 140 W WITH TWO DIFFERENT PRESSURES, USING HYDROGEN AND HELIUM AS EQUALIZING GASES. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT HEAT TRANSFER AT THE CONDENSER, THE RECTIFIER AND THE BOILER ARE INDEPENDENT OF THE EQUALIZING GAS AND THE EVAPORATOR COOLING AND TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS. HELIUM HAS A SATISFACTORY BEHAVIOUR, BUT WITH NO SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE COMPARED TO HYDROGEN.
