Thermal characteristic of a conduction-cooled cryogenic system for a superconducting magnet.

[ In Korean. / En coréen.]

Summary

The thermal flow in a conduction cooling system for superconducting magnet is discussed. In a conduction-cooled superconducting magnet system, a magnet is cooled down to a desired temperature by a cryocooler. The conduction plate between a magnet and cryocooler is employed as a cooling medium. The temperature distributions along the conduction plate are measured during the cool-down process and in steady state, from which thermal resistance for conduction plate is estimated. The effect of design parameters on the cool-down time and temperature distributions is also presented.
