Advanced GM cryocooler aided directly cooled superconducting magnets and their new world of high magnetic field application.

Summary
Excellent magnetic materials developed for magnetic refrigerators have realised an excellent GM (Gifford- McMahon) refrigerator heat storage materials; and high Tc superconductors, discovered in 1987, together with the cryocoolers, further promote SC magnets. Advanced cryocooler-directly-cooled SC magnets have now matured to become invaluable market-wares. In this paper, examples of advanced cryocooler-directly-cooled SC magnets and the new world of high magnetic field applications which they have recently opened are reported.
