Summary
The paper investigates the effects of overhang as a shading device on the thermal gain through windows at different orientations in Amman. Having sized and selected the most efficient overhang according to its performance in the summer, its effect on the obstruction of direct solar radiation transmitted through the shaded windows during the winter was estimated.
