Summary

An experimental study has been made of the temperature field on a liquid film surface free flowing on a vertical plate with the local heat source in its centre. The experiments conducted prove that a zone of gravity-thermocapillary movement, where the Marangoni effect has significant influence on liquid movement, exists at small Reynolds numbers (Reynolds less than 20) for liquid film highly subcooled up to saturation temperature after the zone of "heat transfer stabilization".
