IN A TYPICAL AIR CONDITIONED BUILDING, THE SERVICES DEMANDING ALMOST ALL THE ELECTRICITY ARE LIGHTING AND AIR CONDITIONING. THE DESIGNERS OF BOTH THESE SERVICES ARE NOW BEING ASKED TO DESIGN PLANTS WHICH ARE STILL GIVING AN ACCEPTABLE DEGREE OF COMFORT, BUT WHICH ARE ALSO OPTIMIZED IN SIZE AND ARE THRIFTY IN THEIR ENERGY DEMANDS.
