Thermodynamic and physical properties of mixtures of refrigerants. 1. Oils. 2. Mixtures.

Propriétés thermodynamiques et physiques des mélanges de fluides frigorigènes. 1. Les huiles. 2. Les mélanges.

Summary

Investigation of the influence of lubricants circulating within refrigerating plant on boiling and convective condensation mechanisms, and the lack of data supplied by manufacturers, mean that predictive models need to be used in order to determine the thermodynamic and transport properties of lubricants. Part 1 of this document provides a compilation of correlations enabling these properties to be calculated. It is essential to study the thermodynamic and physical properties of refrigerant mixtures and lubricants in order to understand and perform modelling of boiling or condensation mechanisms of these mixtures in heat exchangers. The literature describes many methods and correlations used to define the properties of these mixtures. Part 2 of this document presents and compares a few available methods.
