THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF REFRIGERANT-ABSORBENT COMBINATIONS FOR ABSORPTION PROCESSES BY THE UNIFAC GROUP CONTRIBUTION THEORY.

Author(s) : YARON I., JELINEK M., BORDE I.

Summary

FOR NONELECTROLYTE REFRIGERANT-ABSORBENT COMBINATIONS, VAPOUR-LIQUID EQUILIBRIA DATA ARE TRANSFORMED, USING THE UNIFAC GROUP CONTRIBUTION THEORY, TO THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES NECESSARY FOR THE BEHAVIOUR OF THESE SOLUTIONS. IN THE VAPOUR PHASE, NON-IDEALITIES ARE DERIVED FROM A VIRIAL EQUATION OF STATE TAKING INTO ACCOUNT NON-POLAR, POLAR, ETC, ASSOCIATIONS BETWEEN MOLECULES. LINEARLY TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT GROUP INTERACTION PARAMETERS WERE EVALUATED FOR SOME GROUPS OF POTENTIAL IMPORTANCE IN ABSORPTION SYSTEMS. WITH THESE PARAMETERS, EXCESS THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES WERE CALCULATED AND ENTHALPY-CONCENTRATION AND EXERGY-CONCENTRATION CHARTS WERE CONSTRUCTED.
