Thermoeconomics applied to an air conditioning system with cogeneration.

Summary

The paper is a thermoeconomic analysis of an air conditioning and cogeneration system with an absorption chiller. The analysis involves the use of exergetic life-cycle cost equations in order to determine the optimum system design and operating conditions for the installation. The system was analysed by computer, involving the use of an equation solving software package. The cogeneration and air conditioning system used in the analysis is theoretical, consisting of a gas engine supplying thermal and electric energy to a single-stage absorption chiller and a variable-air-volume system.
