Summary
Within the preparation of the AMS-02 experiment, the development of thermomechanical pumps (TMP) was carried out by ILK Dresden. However, a TMP offers especially significant advantages in space use. So, it contains no moving mechanical parts and it is therefore a highly reliable space component with a long life span. The accomplishment of the TMP development at ILK Dresden required a serious elaboration of the scientific and technical basics. The results of this preparation of the TMP development are also given.
