Summary

An attempt has been made to interpret some of the observed features of thermopower of noble metals at very low temperature by introducing the contribution due to thermal conductivity to thermopower. This new approach is found to explain qualitatively the occurrence of a peak in the thermopower, change of sign of thermopower and suppression of the magnitude of peak with increasing amount of impurity in the specimen.
