Three air supply terminals for temperature-humidity independent controlled system: design and performance test.

Author(s) : ZHAO H., ZHAO B., LI X. T.

Summary

In order to save energy consumption in buildings, a new concept was presented that temperature and humidity indoor were controlled independently. In this system, sensible heat load is removed by radiation panel while dry fresh air is supplied to control the indoor humidity and maintain high air quality. Since the purpose of the air supply terminals is different from traditional one, new terminal devices should be developed for this temperature-humidity independent controlled environment. This paper presents the development of three air supply terminals applied in office zones with different function. Design process and performance are given, such as air supply volume and resistance characteristic. The results show that all the terminals can almost satisfy the fresh air volume needed in the temperature-humidity independent controlled environment and have a certain change range.
