TOTAL ANDROGEN BLOCKADE AND TRANSURETHRAL CRYOTHERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF ADVANCED PROSTATIC CANCER.

Author(s) : LAUDI M.

Summary

THE STUDY INDICATES THAT THE DEOBSTRUENT EFFECT OF CRYOTHERAPY AND ITS IMMUNOSTIMULATING ACTIVITY SERVE TO IMPROVE THE THERAPEUTIC RESPONSE TO TOTAL ANDROGEN SUPPRESSION (ITSELF ONE OFTHE MORE WIDELY EMPLOYED PROTOCOLS, GIVING RESULTS THAT SEEM TO BE BETTER THAN THOSE OFFERED BY MONOTHERAPY) IN THE TREATMENT OF ADVANCED PROSTATIC CARCINOMA. IT CAN THUS BE DEDUCED THAT THESE TWO METHODS ARE NOT ANTAGONISTIC, SINCE THEY CAN HAVE A SIGNIFICANT SYNERGIC EFFECT.
