Summary

High initial investment is the main factor that currently blocks a more extended use of solar absorption cooling systems. Low capacity installations have the price of the absorption chiller as the most limiting factor altogether with the auxiliary system. The development of direct air-cooled systems in order to explore the possibility of avoiding the cooling tower (inducing an extended analysis of the heat rejection system), with the aim to decrease the price of the whole installation, results very interesting.
