Tree-shaped two-phase fluid distributor for microchannel heat exchangers used as evaporator.

Number: pap. n. 6

Author(s) : BRAUNGARDT S., SCHULTZ N., LANGNER R., et al.

Summary

This paper presents the idea of a fluid distributor for microchannel brazed aluminium heat exchangers based on a tree-shaped bifurcated network. In a literature review similar applications are analysed and the authors' design is introduced in detail. The two-phase frictional pressure drop over the distributor is calculated and the authors describe their automatized procedure for mesh generation for CFD simulation. Finally, some possible manufacturing techniques are presented.
