Summary

PRESSURE DROP EXPERIMENTS IN HIGHLY TURBULENT HELIUM II FLOW WERE PERFORMED IN FLOW LOOPS DRIVEN BY EITHER A CENTRIFUGAL PUMP OR A SINGLE-STROKE BELLOWS PUMP. PRESSURE DROPS IN STRAIGHT TUBING, COILED TUBING, BELLOWS SECTIONS, VALVES AN VENTURI FLOW METERS WERE MEASURED OVER A RANGE OF FLOW RATES AND TEMPERATURES. PRESSURE DROP DATA ARE IN GENERAL AGREEMENT WITH CLASSICAL FLUID CORRELATIONS WHEN THE HELIUM II NORMAL COMPONENT VISCOSITY IS USED IN CALCULATING THE REYNOLDS NUMBER.
