Summary

THE STUDY INVOLVES A BASIC TYPE OF CORRUGATED CHANNEL WALL HEAT EXCHANGER. A MATHEMATICAL MODEL WAS DEVELOPED AND USED TO PRODUCE VELOCITY PROFILES SHOWING THE EFFECT ON NUSSELT NUMBER FOR FOUR DIFFERENT DISTANCES BETWEEN BENDS. THE CONCLUSIONS SUGGEST THAT THE EFFECT OF REYNOLDS NUMBER ON LOCAL HEAT TRANSFER IS SMALL FOR TURBULENT FLOW, THE EFFECT OF THE DISTANCE BETWEEN BENDS LIKEWISE IS SMALL AND THE DEPENDENCY OF NUSSELT ON REYNOLDS NUMBER IS APPROXIMATELY TO THE 0.5 POWER.
