Two-hole bulk high-critical temperature SQUID electronic gradiometer for magnetocardiography in unshielded space.

Summary

A first order electronic gradiometer has been developed. The use of two-hole bulk YBCO radio frequency SQUIDs permitted optimization of the characteristic SQUID parameter without compromising the noise performance. A field/flux transformation coefficient, a common mode suppression and a peak-to-peak noise amplitude in an unshielded environment make it possible to record human heart beat signals.
