Summary
Doors and windows are not only obvious paths, they are bimodal. Their resistances may be rather large, or small, depending on whether they are open or closed. The leakage area of an open door is a few thousand square inches that can change to less than a hundred square inches when closed. The airflow patterns in a building may change completely depending on whether a door is open or closed.
