Summary

The paper presents an energy and economic analysis of the performance of such systems. Based on the climate of 15 Italian cities, the authors produced some simulations of heat pump performance during daily and nightly periods. A few charts are given, comparing the economic advantages of following equipment: boiler and electrical heat pump; boiler and engine-powered heat pump; electrical and engine-powered heat pump.
