Type of article: Article
Summary
Energy consumption and cooling or heating capacity are clearly related to each other. Saving of energy starts with a careful calculation of the required cooling and heating load. Is this a rational conclusion? The article gives a description followed by a consideration regarding the complex supply of energy to refrigeration plants and heat pumps. Combinations of cooling and heating in a single common plant lead to an optimal use of available energy sources. The Dutch economy might benefit from this result.
