Using infrared thermography to estimate isentropic efficiency in a reciprocating compressor.

Author(s) : NAVARRO-ESBRÍ J., CABELLO R., TORRELLA E., et al.

Summary

The work is focused on the isentropic efficiency analysis of an open-type reciprocating compressor with the help of infrared thermography. In order to meet this objective an analysis of the compression process is addressed using a test bench based on a single-stage vapour compression plant. A methodology to estimate the isentropic efficiency using infrared images is proposed.
