Summary
Fan-and-pad evaporative cooling systems use expensive corrugated cellulose pads (Cel-dek). The performance of new pads was evaluated in terms of saturation efficiency and degree of cooling. It is concluded that there is a great potential for utilizing date palm fibres and even leaves in fabricating wetted pads for evaporative coolers.
