Summary
OF ALL THE CONVENTIONAL METHODS OF REFRIGERATION, THE VAPOUR ABSORPTION SYSTEM HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE THE MOST SUITABLE FOR SOLAR APPLICATION. IN THE PAPER,THE VAPOUR PRESSURE FOR A NOVEL WORKING FLUID CONSISTING OF 2 MOL LITHIUM BROMIDE PLUS 1 MOL ZINC BROMIDE AS THE ABSORBENT AND WATER AS THE REFRIGERANT WAS MEASURED. THE RESULT IS PRESENTED ON A DUHRING CHART AND A METHOD OF CALCULATINGTHE SOLUTION ENTHALPY FROM THE VAPOUR PRESSURE DATA AND THE SPECIFIC HEAT OF ONE CONCENTRATION OF THE SOLUTION OVER THE TEMPERATURE RANGE OF INTEREST IS PRESENTED.
