Summary

SLIDE VALVES HAVE BEEN USED IN FIXED VOLUME RATIO SCREW COMPRESSORS TO CONTROL CAPACITY BY OPENING A PRE-COMPRESSION BYPASS. A NEW TYPE OF SLIDE VALVE HAS NOW BEEN PRODUCED WHICH CHANGES THE LENGTH OF OPERATIVE ROTOR WITHOUT BYPASSING. THIS EFFECTIVELY ALTERS THE VOLUME RATIO. TESTS ILLUSTRATE THE PERFORMANCE AND SHOW HOW CAPACITY CAN BE CONTROLLED AT THE SAME TIME. D.W.H.
