VAV modelling and control.
Author(s) : SHEPHERD K. J., et al.
Summary
States that a major reason for the widespread use of VAV systems is their potential for reducing fan energy consumption. That the performance of real systems typically falls short of this potential is in part a result of design and control techniques which give inadequate consideration to the part-load performance of networks of VAV terminals. Discusses VAV control techniques and proposes a technique for modelling VAV networks which is based on the concept of flow resistances.
