THIS PAPER IS CONCERNED WITH A ROLLING PISTON TYPE ROTARY COMPRESSOR FOR AIR CONDITIONING USE. VIBRATION OF THE COMPRESSOR IS ANALYSED THEORETICALLY AND EXPERIMENTALLY. CHARACTERISTICS OF VIBRATION AT STEADY STATE, STARTING AND STOPPING OPERATIONS ARE INVESTIGATED. A SIMPLE METHOD TO PREDICT THE VIBRATION IN EACH OPERATING CONDITION IS GIVEN.
