Summary

TECHNIQUES IN THE ANALYSIS AND COMPUTER SIMULATION OF ROLLING PISTON ROTARY COMPRESSORS ARE PRESENTED. THE ANALYSIS COVERED THECOMPRESSOR BEARING SYSTEM IN TAKING INTO ACCOUNT SHAFT DEFLECTION, ALSO VALVE DYNAMICS, BLADE AND ROTOR MOTION, NOISE AND VIBRATION. COMPUTER SIMULATION WAS USED TO ASSESS COMPRESSOR PERFORMANCE. THE RESULTS OF THESE TECHNIQUES HAVE PRODUCED A NEW SERIES OF SMALLER COMPRESSORS (30 TO 40% REDUCTION), A 10 TO 20% IMPROVEMENT IN EFFICIENCY AND THE LOWERING OF OPERATING NOISE LEVELS BY 8 TO 10 DECIBELS(A).
