Water-source heat pumps in the retrofit market.
Author(s) : VUKOVIC V.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The article reviews two distinct applications that can be achieved through the use of high-efficiency water-source heat pumps: an equipment retrofit of an existing boiler-tower system for a 23,225 m2 insurance company building, and a system retrofit of an 7,432 m2 office complex from a conventional boiler-tower application to a geothermal hybrid system using a ground-loop heat exchanger for the total heating load, and a downsized cooling tower for peak heat rejection.
