HOTEL ENERGY CONTROL AND SMOKE DETECTION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN SEVERAL LEVELS OF SOPHISTICATION. INDIVIDUAL DEVICES OPERATING IN GUEST ROOMS ARE IN USE, AS WELL AS LARGE SYSTEMS WITH ELABORATE COMMUNICATIONS AND OPERATING STRATEGIES. IN THE FUTURE THESE SHOULD BE COMBINED AND STANDARDIZED. NEW TECHNOLOGIES SHOULD IMPROVE THE SPEED AND EFFICIENCY OF ENERGY CONTROLS WITHIN THE HOTEL AND LODGING INDUSTRY.
