Window air conditioners: performance evaluation and energy conservation.
Author(s) : BHATT M. S., KUMAR S.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The paper presents the results of performance evaluation of window air conditioners which use R22 as the refrigerant. The results pertain to field studies and laboratory studies. The power input to window A/Cs is 10-30 % more than state-of-the-art systems. The daily specific energy consumption (kWh/m3/d) is 6-7 times higher than that in developed countries and can be reduced by several means which are investigated here.
