Summary

THE ADSORPTION ISOTHERMS OF WATER AND ETHANOL VAPOURS ON THE SODIUM Y, 13 X AND 5 A ZEOLITE MOLECULAR SIEVES WERE DETERMINED BY A GRAVIMETRIC METHOD IN HIGH VACUUM AT TEMPERATURES FROM 298 TO 573 K (25 TO 300 DEG C). LIQUID-GAS-ZEOLITE STATIONARY STATE EQUATIONS WERE DEDUCED TO DESCRIBE THE PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF THE LIQUID-GAS-ZEOLITE SYSTEM FOR ADSORPTION REFRIGERATION. THE BEST LIQUID-ZEOLITE COUPLE FOR A GIVEN FUNCTION CAN BE SELECTED. THE ETHANOL-ZEOLITE SYSTEM (SUCH AS ETHANOL-5 A ZEOLITE COUPLE) MAY BE USED FOR COOLING (LOW TEMPERATURE, BUT LOW PRODUCTION). WATER-ZEOLITE SYSTEMS (SUCH AS WATER-SODIUM Y ZEOLITE COUPLE) MAY BE CONSIDERED IN AIR CONDITIONING (RELATIVELY HIGH TEMPERATURE, BUT LARGE COOLING CAPACITIES).
