Briefs: Green Olympics: Sanyo

Sanyo has developed a CO2 refrigeration cassette for Coca-Cola's drinks coolers to be used during the Beijing Olympics and will start supplying cassettes in March 2008. Salvatore Gabola, director of Coca-Cola's worldwide stakeholder relations, describes the cassette as "….fundamental in our commitment to have HFC-free, highly energy efficient equipment in all official venues of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In the past, Coca-Cola has provided over 2000 CO2 beverage coolers at World Cup football venues in Germany and over 1000 such coolers at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
