Launched in early 2010, the "Cold Train" Pacific Northwest-Chicagoland Express Refrigerated Intermodal Service operates in partnership with BNSF and the Port of Quincy, Washington.
Rail Logistics recently announced that due to continued growth, the company's Cold Train service is expanding its Washington State-based refrigerated container fleet to 300 state-of-the-art 53-foot (16.15-metre) containers (built by Hyundai), and will also be expanding its service territory.

It serves shippers in Washington State and the Midwest, including businesses in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Iowa, providing shipments of Washington State fresh produce and frozen foods and vegetables.
Cold Train shipped around 100 containers of perishable commodities per month from Washington State to the Midwest, but by 2011 the number of shipments increased to about 300 containers per month. In 2012, Cold Train is hauling close to 400 containers of fresh and frozen cargo per month to the Midwest.
Projections indicate that 600 containers will be shipped per month by the end of 2012. Rail Logistics-Cold Train emphasizes that its customers are trading highway miles for rail miles.
