Conference reports

Several IIR-co-sponsored events took place at the end of 2010: - The Pôle Cristal Symposium held in Dinan, France, on October 7-8, 2010 attracted 220 attendees. Sixteen papers were presented. - The International Congress on Energy and the Environment 2010 + Heat Transfer in Components & Systems for Sustainable Energy Technologies was held in Opatija, Croatia, on October 19-22, 2010. This event attracted 172 participants from 27 countries and over 70 papers were presented. - Cryomedicine 2010: the New State of the Art was held in Tokyo on November 11-13, 2010, and attracted 180 participants. The conference dealt with many facets of cryosurgery, vitrification and preservation and 44 papers were presented. - The 41st International Conference on Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration took place in Belgrade on December 1-3, 2010. Key themes included: zero-energy buildings; energy efficiency of buildings; environmentally friendly cooling systems; refrigerants; renewable energy sources. A total of 710 (including over 200 students) participants attended and 92 papers were presented.
