This process of cryoablation under image guidance, called IceSense3, usually takes 10-15 min, causes no bleeding, no pain and virtually no scar as no sutures are required.
Dr Fukuma is now planning to expand his research to a larger number of patients, including patients with larger tumors. Cryoablation attracted high levels of attention at the 2013 conference of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS).
