Double Award for Coldway Technologies, part of SOFRIGAM Group

Sofrigam won two awards at Business France's pitch competition for its energy storage device "THERMOSTORE", utilizing ammonia. Let's take a closer look at this technology. 

French company Coldway Technologies, part of the Sofrigam Group, recently won two awards at a pitch competition organised by Business France. 

The “decarbonised energy storage device” THERMOSTORE won the awards for "Best greentech innovation from the French pavilion" and "Best French innovation from the French pavilion". 

THERMOSTORE is capable of storing energy for later use in the form of heat or cold, thanks to  a chemical reaction based on ammonia and calcium chloride. This innovative process could provide solutions for a ranfe of sectors, including building, residential, transportation, and industry, on a global scale. This innovation is currently undergoing testing as part of the European project MINISTOR. Based in Pia, in the Occitanie region of France, the company aims to address global energy efficiency needs. 

 

Sofrigam has been an IIR member since 2008.
