EN 378 European Standard under revision
The final EN 378 standard is not expected to be published until 2015 at the earliest.
EN 378, the key European standard specifying safety and environmental requirements for refrigerating systems and heat pumps is currently under revision. The draft new standard, drawn up by the Technical Committee CEN/TC 182, was submitted to CEN members for public enquiry until May 19, 2014.
One of the main additions of the new draft is the introduction of the new A2L (“mildly flammable”) classification which applies to most low-GWP HFCs (including R32 and HFOs), already introduced in international ISO 817 standard.
The final EN 378 standard is not expected to be published until 2015 at the earliest.
